Bruce Community Garden

Project Bruce runs a large garden which was offered to us when a local gardening icon who had supplied the town with vegetables passed away in 2019. We have developed a volunteer base, planted a permanent orchard, installed a tunnel house, we grow seasonal vegetables which are distributed to the community.

We have an annual collaboration with Tokomairiro High School who help us with seedling propagation and work together with the South Otago Heritage Society when machinery is required.

The Bruce Community Garden is always looking for green thumbed friends to help out. If you feel like getting involved, get in touch! Also keep an eye out for upcoming gardening and composting workshops.

The garden is located at the Tokomairiro A&P Showgrounds, down the gravel road behind the rugby club.
